  1. Donald and Janice McCarty of West Union have been chosen as the recipients of the 2017 4-H Alumni Award for their dedication and support of 4-H in Adams County. The award was presented to the couple during the Opening Ceremonies of the 126th Adams County Fair on Sunday, July 9. The McCarty's, who share about 110 years of combined 4-H involvement, say they were surprised when they learned they had been chosen to receive the award.

  2. McKayla Raines, daughter of Todd and Melanie Rains of Seaman, was crowned Queen of the 126th Adams County Fair Sunday evening. Raines says she wasn't expecting to win, but couldn't be happier about the outcome.

  3. A family in Seaman received an unexpected visitor last Friday evening. A grey and white pigeon showed up on their property and didn't seem interested in flying off.

  4. The combined efforts of the Adams County Sheriff's Office and the West Union Lions Club will present the fourth annual Adams County Freedom Festival on Friday, June 30. This year's theme is "A Star Spangled Salute", a tribute to the 240th birthday of the American flag. The festivities will be held at the Adams County Fairgrounds, with the gates opening at 5 p.m. All evening, a free Family Fun Zone will entertain children with games, crafts, and much more.
